TITLE: Molding Process Technician
GRADE: 6
DEPARTMENT: Molding
I. POSITION IN ORGANIZATION
A. Reports to: Senior Process Engineer
B. Directly supervises: N/A
C. Indirectly supervises: Press Operators
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Training operators on their assigned jobs for the following:
1. Operation of equipment.
2. Manufacturing sequence of operations.
3. Quality requirements.
4. SPC requirements and documentation.
5. Production documentation.
B. Develop process set up sheets documenting all changes in a timely basis.
C. Production start up and processing of injection molding tools.
D. Perform daily injection molding process checks as listed on the process log sheet.
E. Trouble shoot injection molding process implementing necessary corrections, documenting action and results.
F. Correct process when the control chart shows an out of control condition, documenting action and results.
G. Perform mold preventive maintenance as outlined by the mold’s PM procedure.
H. Conduct specified audits on molded product to assure its compliance to the required quality standards.
I. When assigned will fill in for the molding supervisor.
J. Maintain compliance with plant policy, safety and good housekeeping practices.
K. Keep molding supervisor advised of process, product and employee problems
or concerns.
L. Effectively communicate with other shifts and departments.
III. RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: All areas of the plant. Works closely with quality and materials personnel.
External: As required will interact with vendors technical personnel. Will be exposed to current and prospective customer personnel.
IV. EDUCATION
Requires the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and read and interpret certain mechanical or electronic measuring instruments, such as calipers, scales, scopes, etc., together with drawings, product documentation, etc.. May include requirement for knowledge obtained through short specialized training courses like RJG Training, Paulson Training, Robotic Programming & Basic SPC
training. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have a very solid understanding of injection molding processing and troubleshooting.
V. EXPERIENCE
Three years experience in injection molding or equivalent preferred.

A. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
B. Injection molding and technical skills.
C. Dependable, self-motivated & hard working.
